This is #populism

Far-right supporters in #Dresden wave flags at PEGIDA marches with “wir sind das volk” on it. They claim to fight against the #islamisation in Germany and in general the loss of #national_identity with the influx of people of different backgrounds.
They just seemed to forget the second part of that sentence, the “wir sind EIN volk” which made the message so strong and powerful. And they also seemed to forget that almost 30 years ago THEY were those with different backgrounds.

This is #populism, taking only a part of a bigger message it is lame. 

Even the propaganda and #fake_news #populism relies on, are often a misleading representation of just a part of the reality, the one their supporters are more prone to believe in as the absolute truth. 
As a result, young #Brits will live the rest of their lives outside the #EU for a decision taken mostly by voters with much less life expectancy then theirs, #US will live for at least three more years with #Trump (well, provided he doesn't foster WW3 before) and 92 #AFD proto-nazi entered the #German #Parliament for the first time in quite some decades.

This is #populism and it has wind in its sails nowadays around the world. However...

This is #populism and by only cherry-picking parts of a bigger message is like a table without a leg. 
#Destined_to_fall. 
Let’s just hope that whole countries will not decide to seat at that table...
